Howard J. Huang graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and attended medical school at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital / UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Barnes Jewish Hospital / Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Huang joined the faculty at Washington University School of Medicine in 2008 and focused on clinical, translation and basic research in interstitial lung disease and transplant immunobiology, receiving research support from the National Institutes of Health, American Thoracic Society Foundation and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. Dr. Huang moved to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas in 2014 and served as Associate Medical Director of Lung Transplantation and Director of Lung Transplant Research. He was recruited to lead the lung transplant program at Houston Methodist in 2018 and is currently the Medical Director of Lung Transplantation for Houston Methodist J.C. Walter, Jr. Transplant Center of Excellence, and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College.
